Context4
AI connections

Connect Claude.

Claude remote connector: MCP, accounts, permissions, first task and disconnection.

This is Claude web or desktop, not Claude Code. Claude Code has separate setup.

What you need

  • A Claude account with Connectors access and permission to add a remote connector; check your administrator's rules in an organization.
  • A Context4 account, selected workspace and business-service account with the required permissions.
  • Authority to transfer data to the selected AI when connecting a corporate system.

Context4 is free. Claude and business-service plans are set separately by their providers.

Add a remote connector

  1. Open Settings → Connectors in Claude. If Context4 is available in the directory, use its listing; where custom connectors are available, you can add your own remote connector.
  2. Enter Context4 and the exact MCP URL for this environment:
text
https://ctx4.me/mcp
  1. Start connecting and follow browser authorization to Context4. Sign in, select an accessible workspace and approve access. Cancelled or denied sign-in does not complete setup.
  2. Enable Context4 in the conversation tools and ask it to check available connections. If the feature is unavailable, contact your administrator.

Cloud Claude requires a publicly reachable HTTPS address. A local desktop extension is a different mechanism. The claude mcp add command belongs to Claude Code; it is not executed by messaging ordinary Claude. Official guide.

Permissions and business accounts

The MCP OAuth scope mcp:tools grants access to permitted tools in the selected workspace, not every service at once. OAuth discovery · Technical guide.

CRMs and other services are connected separately: the AI finds a connector, checks existing access and returns an authorization link if required. Review the account, recipient and scopes on the consent screen. Enter API keys through the designated Context4 flow, never in chat. Open connections.

First task

Show deals in the connected CRM where we need to contact the customer. If the required data or permissions are unavailable, explain what is available and do not invent anything.

Fields and actions depend on the connector. Request writes explicitly and separately:

Create a task to call the customer tomorrow. First confirm the deal, assignee and time.

The AI must use a real tool and report a confirmed result. Verify execution.

Skills

Install context4 and context4-setup; add context4-workflows for cross-service tasks. Claude skill instructions. Skills do not replace a remote connector or authorization.

Disconnect and data

Disconnect the connector in Claude and revoke its MCP grant. Separately disconnect the business account in Context4 and revoke its grant or key in the source service. Removing one connection does not revoke the others.

Context4 proxies operation content without persistent storage; account and authorization data is processed separately. Request account deletion through support. Anthropic rules govern data already received by Claude. Data handling · Revocation guide · Privacy · Terms.
