Context4
Technical documentation

Technical documentation.

Navigation for HTTP, MCP, OAuth and proxy requests.

Context4's public surface consists of the HTTP API /v1, remote /mcp, OAuth for MCP and the Composio adapter at /compat/context4/v1. These are different ways to access shared connections and execution, subject to permissions, policies and quotas.

HTTP API

General rules and authorization explains keys, errors, pagination and retries. The full OpenAPI JSON contains 66 operations on 45 paths and 61 named schemas; the reference below is generated from that same public contract.

AI and MCP

Connection and protocol, five meta-tools with exact schemas, OAuth. Service tools load from the live catalog; there is no complete universal action list for every account.

Direct HTTP and SDK

Proxy requests explains paths, query parameters, bodies, authorization and restrictions. Composio SDK describes compatible versions and differences from native contracts.

Public documentation describes client interfaces. Internal ingress, service-to-service controllers, service checks and operator settings are not client APIs.

Machine-readable reference

OpenAPI JSON, HTTP and MCP index with schemas, compat route inventory, AI instructions, full documentation as one text. Retrieve any chapter as Markdown by appending .md to its address.

The public connector and action catalog in JSON contains versions, authorization methods and action keys. It is a catalog snapshot, not confirmation of access in the current account: check schemas and availability through discovery.
